Schedule of Events

Take Care New York (TCNY) is an annual enterprise-wide initiative with the goal of encouraging New Yorkers to "move to improve" their health and fight disease.
Guns Down, Life Up recently appeared at a number of HHC facilities, taking part in TCNY health fairs, education and screening events to educate the community about gun violence prevention.

Program leaders greeted attendees explaining GDLU's work with New York City youth to promote healthy lifestyles and self-empowerment as alternatives to violent behaviors.

The initiative generated increased awareness for GDLU programs as many parents and students joined the movement to curb gun violence.

GDLU in the Community

GDLU actively participates in health fairs, peace marches, and national conferences on violence reduction. GDLU also works closely with schools across the five boroughs to deliver anti-violence messaging and foster youth empowerment. In February 2015, GDLU took part in the New York City Peace Games (presented by former NBA great Isiah Thomas, Cure Violence, and many others), held during NBA All-Star Weekend.

What is GDLU?

You've seen the T-shirts, it's got New York City talking. But what is GDLU exactly?
